I Believe in Christ

We were asked to sing I Believe In Christ to share with our church congregation virtually on Easter Sunday since there is a stay-at-home mandate due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Xavier was not too happy about it, but for the very first take, he did great. I would have re-recorded it once I saw that I was not fully in the frame. We were supposed to record 2-3 times and take the best one. Xavier had other plans. So this is our family, minus Julienne who is in Provo, Utah, and who has a beautiful voice, and Maggie, who is in Logan, Utah, and also has a beautiful voice. When we are all together we sound even better.

We don’t claim to be professionals. I hope that you can feel the message and spirit of this hymn.

Bringhurst Family sings I Believe In Christ

I miss being with our ward this Easter Sunday. It is a church service I always look forward to. I usually sing with our choir. I always come home uplifted and grateful for Jesus Christ. As this hymn says, I do believe in Christ. He is my King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He is the Redeemer and Savior of the world. He is risen from the tomb giving the gift of resurrection to all of God’s children. I know that some day I will kneel before Him. I know that thanks to His atonement and resurrection, some day I will see my loved ones who have passed to the other side of the veil. Easter is the glorious day where we say to the world, He lives. I know that my Redeemer lives.

1. I believe in Christ; he is my King! With all my heart to him I’ll sing; I’ll raise my voice in praise and joy, In grand amens my tongue employ. I believe in Christ; he is God’s Son. On earth to dwell his soul did come. He healed the sick; the dead he raised. Good works were his; his name be praised.

2. I believe in Christ; oh blessed name! As Mary’s Son he came to reign ’Mid mortal men, his earthly kin, To save them from the woes of sin. I believe in Christ, who marked the path, Who did gain all his Father hath, Who said to men: “Come, follow me, That ye, my friends, with God may be.”

3. I believe in Christ—my Lord, my God! My feet he plants on gospel sod. I’ll worship him with all my might; He is the source of truth and light. I believe in Christ; he ransoms me. From Satan’s grasp he sets me free, And I shall live with joy and love In his eternal courts above.

4. I believe in Christ; he stands supreme! From him I’ll gain my fondest dream; And while I strive through grief and pain, His voice is heard: “Ye shall obtain.” I believe in Christ; so come what may, With him I’ll stand in that great day When on this earth he comes again To rule among the sons of men.
