This video took way longer than it should have. Back in the October 2014 General Conference, Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, invited everyone to consider recording Joseph Smith’s account of the First Vision in our own words. I tried doing an audio recording of everyone reading it during aContinue reading “Joseph Smith’s First Vision”

Testimonies of the Book of Mormon – Chantel
My series of testimonies of the Book of Mormon continues with another testimony of a family member. As I had said in the previous blog post, some of my family members had written down their testimonies of the Book of Mormon while I was a missionary in France. These testimonies were given to me, IContinue reading “Testimonies of the Book of Mormon – Chantel”
President Nelson visits Seattle
When I talk about prophets, many outside of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints think of Old Testament prophets such as Abraham, Moses, Noah and Isaiah. The Latter-day Saints think of modern prophets right along with these prophets of the Old Testament. We believe that God still speaks to prophets, whom He has chosenContinue reading “President Nelson visits Seattle”
Carcassonne, France
This week I have had two different friends touring through southern France and posting pictures of the town of Carcasonne. I have enjoyed seeing their pictures that they have posted of this incredible medieval city. It reminded me of a message I had written back in 2004 for our church (ward) newsletter in Springville, Utah. Continue reading “Carcassonne, France”

During that time of being inactive in the Church, I never doubted the teachings. I neverContinue reading “Anti-Mormon & losing faith”
Punch out arcade game
The year is 1985. It is summer time. There is a small arcade at the Dan’s grocery store about a mile from home. Each day during the summer, my friends and I would walk to the store for an ice cream and to play some video games. Sometimes I only had a quarter. Sometimes I had 4 quarters. But one thing was for sure, I was going to play “Punch Out.”
Trampolines in the Highlands
When we moved to Highland, Utah we were excited to have a big yard. We had three daughters; Julienne was 6, Maggie had just turned 5, and Emma was almost 2. Part of the appeal of the house was a big playground in the back yard and room for a trampoline. We bought a trampolineContinue reading “Trampolines in the Highlands”
Change in LDS Leadership
Change in LDS leadership is interesting and unique and unlike any other religious organization. Most churches have a priest or some type of leadership for their local parish. In The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the local leaders are all lay leaders. They are just regular members of the congregation who serve forContinue reading “Change in LDS Leadership”
