My witness of a living Apostle of Jesus Christ

I have been blessed in my life to have had some wonderful examples, leaders, and friends. As I have thought today about someone who exemplifies Christlike service, my mission president, now an Apostle, Neil L. Andersen, has been on my mind. He was called at a young age to be a mission president. He stillContinue reading “My witness of a living Apostle of Jesus Christ”

Tracting in La Rochelle France

As I look through my pictures from my mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in France, each picture seems to have a story. I served from May 1991 to May 1993. I had so many amazing experiences. Sometimes you don’t realize that something significant is happening when you are right inContinue reading “Tracting in La Rochelle France”

Notre Dame, Easter and the hope of resurrection

We’ve all received shocking news. Yesterday seeing images of Notre Dame in Paris with flames shooting out of the roof was shocking. This morning I received a phone call notifying me that someone very dear to me had passed away.  I can imagine how shocking the news might have been when Mary came to theContinue reading “Notre Dame, Easter and the hope of resurrection”

Unexpected trip to Paris

Often my posts are serious. I might write about something that I’ve been pondering for quite some time before I put it into words. Occasionally however, they are humorous, like my post on finding a Diet Coke in France.  This one is a little more on the light side and it’s just a memory that IContinue reading “Unexpected trip to Paris”

Testimonies of the Book of Mormon – Joshua

My series continues today with another testimony of a family member. As I had said in the previous blog, some of my family members had written down their testimonies of the Book of Mormon while I was a missionary in France. These testimonies were given to me, I then translated them into French and hand-wroteContinue reading “Testimonies of the Book of Mormon – Joshua”

Testimonies of the Book of Mormon – Eldred

Yesterday I posted on my blog about a number of testimonies my family members had written while I was a missionary in France.  These testimonies were given to me, I translated them into French, hand-wrote them in the front of a copy of the Book of Mormon (Le Livre de Mormon), and gave them toContinue reading “Testimonies of the Book of Mormon – Eldred”

Testimony of the Book of Mormon – Joan

Recently I came across some testimonies of the Book of Mormon that had been given to me when I was a missionary serving in France. These testimonies were from some of my family members.  I had taken them, translated them into French, hand-wrote them in the front of a copy of the Book of MormonContinue reading “Testimony of the Book of Mormon – Joan”

Je ne serai pas baptisé.

Parfois, vous reconnaissez quand vous êtes témoin d’un miracle. C’était un moment miraculeux à Pau. Je pense que tout membre qui était là pendant ce temps se souviendra de lui comme rien de moins qu’un miracle.

I’m not getting baptized

Sometimes you recognize when you are witnessing a miracle. I knew that I was seeing a miracle first-hand. There was a very special feeling as all of this was happening. This was a miraculous time in Pau. The Spirit of God was so strong and the hand of the Lord was so obvious in the missionary work.

He numbereth his sheep

As a Mormon missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, you meet a lot of people over the course of your two years. (The men serve for two years and the women serve for 18 months.)  There are certain people you meet who stay with you. As a faithful member of theContinue reading “He numbereth his sheep”
